Our largest group class accommodates up to just 7 clients, large enough for you to enjoy the camaraderie of working with others, but small enough to give you the individual attention that you need. Your instructor will quickly get to know you and your body and will work with you to make sure you are doing the exercises safely and effectively and are getting the best out of your natural physique. 

I haven't done any exercise in years. Will I be able to manage the exercises?

The exercises are deceptively simple, sometimes even very subtle and minimal and anyone can do them. If done correctly, they are so effective that you needn't perform more than ten repetitions of each in a session.

I already do fitness classes, will I gain any benefit from taking up Pilates?

You will probably find Pilates exercises more gentle than your regular aerobics classes or weight training, but that doesn't mean it won't be an effective method of exercising and toning your body. It compliments all other exercise regimes by putting you in tune with your own body.

If Pilates exercises are that gentle, do they really work?

Yes they do! Within weeks you should notice that your muscles feel more toned and your joints will be looser and more supple. As your spine lengthens you will feel and look taller. As you strengthen the body's central core muscles, you will find yourself standing straighter and holding your upper body correctly, giving you overall improved posture.

I have a bad back, can I do Pilates?

Most definitely! Often, it is likely that postural misalignments have been contributing to your back problem and through gentle Pilates we will focus on building up your weaker muscles while protecting the spine and relieving strain on injured areas. We will take a full medical history from you to ensure that any exercises you are given are safe and beneficial, taking account of your individual needs.
